The album: Heavy Is the Crown
Anderson .Paak and Cordae announced a joint album in August 2026 and released Heavy Is the Crown on 23 October 2026, through APESHIT, EMPIRE, Hi Level and Mass Appeal. It has 11 tracks, and “58th Floor” opens it.
Reports citing the Qobuz credits list J. Cole as the producer of “58th Floor”.
What “58th Floor” is about
Apple Music’s editorial note says the song “builds a comedic story around a telephone conversation”: one of the two finds himself in an awkward spot and looks for a way out. Rather than trading separate verses, the two artists build on each other’s lines, so the back-and-forth is part of the story.
The title is part of that story, not a building you can visit. That matters for AI: ask a general video model for “a 58th floor video” and it tends to give you a high-rise apartment, which is not the trend. The song contains explicit language.
The COLORS performance
COLORS, the music channel known for single-colour studio sessions, filmed the two of them performing “58th Floor” in a seamless teal studio with one vintage microphone hanging between them, and posted it on 30 October 2026. Anderson .Paak closes the hook and Cordae takes over for the verse.
That look, the teal room, the hanging mic and the hand-over, is what people copy.
How the song became an AI trend
Within days, AI template sites let people upload two photos and get a 15-second version of the session starring themselves, a friend or a pet, lip-synced to the song. The AI clips use new faces in a teal studio built to look like the session; they are not edits of the real performance.
58th Floor AI is one of those tools. It keeps the original sound by default, with a Silent option for a clean version.
